A beautiful gouache by this little known West Country painter. The light is very well handled and the subject matter well composed. It is typical of the style of painting popularised in the 1920's by artists who were influenced by Neapolitan School gouaches. Very atmospheric. Signed bottom left. It is on a heavy card and there is a slight oxidisation in the clouds but it is in excellent condition otherwise.

A beautiful watercolour by an unknown hand. Signed with initials H A U it is inscribed Strobange on the board to which it is mounted. Very confident brush strokes suggest it is by a professional artist. I have no idea where it was painted but can date it to c.1930 by the handling.
