A beautiful watercolour by a well respected artist. Unsigned but I am confident it is by him. Whilst there were many imitators of Prout this has all the hallmarks of being a work by him.
It has a couple of minor rust spots but is in very good unfaded condition.

Dated 1840, inscribed in the artists hand and signed with initials bottom right.
It has been laid onto a stiff card and has some rust spots . It would benefit from cleaning.

It reminds me of the work of the Theatrical designer Wilhelm.
It is inscribed in the artists hand at the bottom . In unfaded condition it does have some dirt around the edges and top right.

A very accomplished topographical watercolour which reminds me of the work of William Leighton Leitch.
Beautiful handling of the trees.
It has lost a little colour but is otherwise in good clean condition.
