Title: "Sussex Landscape 1961"
Artist: Claude Muncaster RWS (1903-
Size: 11.5" x 15.5"
Price: £165
A late pen & ink and wash drawing by this eminent 20thc artist. It is inscribed and dated 9th April 1961 bottom right in Muncasters hand. From a folder of drawings and watercolours by Muncaster, some signed, some unsigned which haven’t seen the light of day since the early 1970’s.
Claude Muncaster was also a member of ROI RBA and SMA.
A pair of drawings which were purchased from a folio of work by the artist Peter Gates.
I believe they were intended for publication in a periodical from the 1950’s.
Very beautiful stylised period pieces. They remind me of work reproduced in The Radio Times.
They are in pen and ink and depict A view in Kent and a Northern Mill Town.
I am selling them as a pair for £125. Sizes are 6” x 4” and 5.5” x 4.5”
