Welcome to VictorianWatercolours.com (Marc Oxley Fine Art)
The site for original Victorian and 20th century, Watercolours and Drawings as well as an online exhibition. All the pieces listed on this site are guaranteed genuine original works of art as per the description.
I have 30 years experience in selling antique watercolours and drawings. I worked in the watercolour department of Christies King Street until 1981 when I become a dealer in Victorian watercolours and drawings.
Since that time I have sold thousands of original drawings and watercolours to dealers and collectors alike; works by Edward Lear, E H Shepherd, Henry Bright, Alfred East, Louis Wain, the list is endless. I have also sold drawings to The National Portrait Gallery, The Littlehampton Museum, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and most recently to The Fine Art Society and The Maas Gallery. I was in the late lamented Lipkas Arcade in the Portobello Road, London for some 15 years before taking on a gallery in a medieval market town in the heart of England. Having sold my gallery I am now dealing almost exclusively on the internet, lower overheads mean lower prices.

I have a small collection of drawings by Algernon Newton RA (1880-
I buy mainly from antique centres, fairs and other dealers, I enjoy sourcing watercolours
which haven't been seen for some time.
I like to think that the drawings I sell are
accessible and most importantly affordable. Finally all are sold unframed for ease
of storage and postage and packing is included in the price.
If you are not happy with a drawing after you have paid for and received it, I will refund the full amount paid (less postage) once it has been returned. I fully appreciate it is impossible to judge a drawings worth from an image.
